We recently travelled to Geraudot and made a stop for a few nights in this campsite, so that we can visit the area. Unfortunately, the reception and treatment we received from the owner was a horrid experience. The pricing and paying system was a shamble, as they demanded for an upfront payment without the option for paying on departure - since we were touring we did not know the exact length of our stay and they would not refund any extra day's paid either. Despite taking my personal passport details, there was certainly no trust or hospitalities towards us and the only option was to pay in advance each day of our stay – something we found extremely inconvenient and unwelcoming. And as we had later learned after speaking to fellow campers, most were offered the option to pay later. This stark contrast in treatment has enraged us and could not help but wonder about the underlying reasons for this discriminatory practice by the owner – racial bias perhaps? More to say but out of space…
Unfriendly staff. Pitches were very small and half the facilities were shut even though the site was open until the end of December. Also no hot water in hand basins.
The owners have 2 large aggresive dogs that are allowed to wander free. We couldn't let our small dog out of the van. The paths are not lit at night. Take your own loo roll and there is only 1 normal toilet, the rest are the "stand over" type. The beach was covered in dog poo. Whilst we were there last October they had workmen in with diggers and tractors which left a trail of mud all over the site. Having said that the workmen were brilliant when we had a problem with our van and helped us sort it. We did leave after 2 nights when we had a further 3 nights booked. There was nothing open in either the nearby village or on the campsite. The nearest restaurant was Troyes 20Ks away.
Spent 4 nights in here in May to visit the area, in particular Troyes. Chose a plot near the rear toilets in the middle of several older caravans which we thought were seasonal. They were actually construction contractors which was a bit of a surprise. They were very quiet and polite though and would go again. Site very close to lake and forest.
Lovely flower filled entrance to this site with well kept grounds throught the site. Pitches are reasonable size and all provide some level of shade if required.
The downside was that the owners let their dogs run loose which may be a concern if you have young children. We also saw the dogs do their "business" on vacant pitches which was not cleared up. So be warned.
This was a busy site when we visited as there are not many "stop over" sites in the area. The toilet facilities were clean & the camp site was tidy with some novel garden features. The pitches are devided by hedges and most had electric hookup. Some of the site roads would be a little narrow for some larger caravans. The staff were friendly and english was spoken.
We stopped over here at the very end of February. Understandably the site looked a little shabby as our stay as so early. I can imagine that in summer it would be a perfect family location as just over the very quiet road was the amazing lake with what will obviously be pizza and snack bars to entertain. The welcome was a little lack lustre, but the area fabulous.
Great site for a stop over if your travelling up from the South to Northern France. Big secure site, lots of pitches to choose from, little snack bar on site, we didn\'t use it, but it looked nice, they do have a weekly wine tasting. Hard standing pitch. Toilet / shower clean, lovely hot water.
Pleasant, well organised clean site set in a pretty wooded area with large lakes and two golf courses nearby
We stayed here for two nights in June the site was reasonably busy but not full we picked a pitch down near the road because I wanted to get satellite tv to watch rugby. The nicest pitches overlooking fields were at the top of the site. Our pitch did have some noise from the road if you were further up you wouldn't hear it. The site is lovely and clean and tidy with different pitches to suite all tastes.
Toilets were ok clean and adequate. The lady in the shop was friendly she didn't speak much English about as much as my French. There was a small cafe serving food I didn't try it but another camper told me it was good.
There are two nice bars across the road which also did take away and eat in food there was a lovely beach on the lake but you couldn't take dogs on it, although there was a small beach at the side which dogs were allowed. There is a cycle track which runs all around the lake and you can walk along it. You can hire bikes near the beach. I would definitely stay again.
